A prophetic ministry places an extra responsibility upon a believer to be transparently honest, sensitive and compassionate. The work of prophesy leaves no place for ego trips and requires no extra drama to pep it up. Anyone who is called to prophesy quickly learns that it is wise to be cautious, low key and straightforward. It is also prudent, whenever possible, to work in pairs to avoid personal temptation, misunderstanding or misrepresentation; and you should bring all prophetic words that come to you under the covering of the church leadership, so that they may be thoroughly vetted and approved — for your own personal wellbeing and safety, the guarding of your reputation, and the protection of others from what may turn out to be some seriously damaging mistakes.
